Book Review - Curtsies and Conspiracies

Curtsies and Conspiracies (Finishing School • Book the Second) by Gail Carriger

Short Summary: Sophronia Temminnick has almost completed her first year at Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. After receiving her 6-month marks and finding out that the school is making a pit stop in London, Sophronia suspects that there are other reasons. Reasons that can threaten the livelihood of supernaturals. With the help of her friends and Bumbersnoot, she uncovers thus conspiracies.

Personal Review: I loved this book just as much as the first one and I laughed just as much as I did with the first book. In book the second we learn a little bit more about the supernatural world that Gail Carriger has created. (Which is pretty cool!) I particularly enjoyed the fact that friendship is still a main focus. In this book, we see that Sophronia is going to be faced with new challenges that will force her to grow as a character. (Yay for character growth!) Like her first book, Carriger does a great job of describing what different steampunk objects look like. Every now and then there's a term that's a little unfamiliar to me. However, with the terms being used in context, the reader shouldn't become lost.
